Mediterranean Modern

Mediterranean Modern is an interior design style rooted in the landscape and history of the Mediterranean. The whitewashed houses of Greece, the rustic farmhouses of Tuscany, the Moorish influences of southern Spain: modern Mediterranean style combines traditional features with contemporary influences.

As with Island Living, raw wood, terracotta and natural stone form the basis of this style. But to give it a modern touch, they are combined with polished concrete, glass and steel. For example, antique amphorae and rustic baskets get a spot next to modern art or minimalist furniture pieces.

The colors? Neutral shades like gray, taupe, écru and beige combined with azure blue or mint green accents that bring in the Mediterranean blue sky and sea.
